Statement on Security Situation

On Sunday, February 23, the Principles First Summit was disrupted by a credible threat. Police responded to the situation, determined that it was safe to proceed with the Summit, and we finished our programming as planned.

This movement has always been about principles. The most important principle we need in this moment is courage. We’re pleased that our speakers, attendees, and staff showed courage in response to this cowardly threat.

This act and others like it show exactly why our movement is so sorely needed. Threats, intimidation, and violence should have no place in our national and civic life. We will keep putting principles first.
